"Delightful fiction"

Well, for the time being, it would appear that yesterday's suggestions of the high yielding to a tropical system over TX have become today's "delightful fiction," according to NWS DFW's forecast this morning . . .
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX 245 AM CDT FRI AUG 3 2012
I AM ANXIOUSLY AWAITING THE 06Z GFS...SINCE YESTERDAY IT BROUGHT US THE DELIGHTFUL FICTION OF A NORTH TEXAS TROPICAL STORM ON DAY 10. IT WOULD BE HIGHLY UNUSUAL FOR A TROPICAL SYSTEM TO STEER INTO A RIDGE. LATER GFS RUNS HAVE A MORE SENSIBLE SOLUTION OF A PATH WESTWARD INTO MEXICO...A SOLUTION SHARED BY THE ECMWF. 84
Additionally, the daily highs and lows through Tuesday certainly do suggest that the ridge over TX will remain entrenched at last through Tuesday: http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=FWD&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1
