Isaac is a mess at the moment

Recon noted the wind shift at the plane's altitude, around 5,000 feet, However, in this particular case that is probably not quite where the lower level center is based on the wind speed at the splash location of the sonde which is what the vortex contained.
Splash Location: 14.72N 63.48W 1006mb (29.71 inHg) Wind: 250° (from the WSW) at 20 knots (23 mph)
This pass I don't even know if they will have a vortex message because there was no wind shift at the altitude they were flying at. They didn't go far enough perhaps, or he is truly unorganized at the moment. Not sure about lower down though, it could be a little better organized, in terms of at least having a closed off center. The low pressure field is very broad though. There is little pressure variation in the entire flight in the storm so far.
Every bit west he gets of the track, the less and less mountains he would go over in Hispaniola, to the point where the center itself could possibly miss most, if not all, of the island. |
