The issue with Tampa Bay right now is they are still recovering from Debby, and this thing is going to pack a very similar punch to Tampa Bay if the current path holds.

Tampa is going to be on the right quadrant of this storm, which is by far worse than the left. That's where the tornados are and the strongest winds.

Also, I've noticed the last 10 years a lot of storms that have hit the northern and eastern gulf have had a history of veering south and east of where they're projected to make landfall. Debby and Charley comes to mind...Ivan...Katrina...Wilma.
