| From someone who's married to a local media "insider"... there is terrific pressure to be all over any possible storm so that the other stations don't get the jump on you. Weather is the big draw for local broadcast stations (according to the ubiquitous news consultants) and no one is going to take a chance on missing the boat. Therefore, everyone wants to be the first, with the most, for the longest. Believe me, the local on-air folks get very tired of this, except for those who just live for air time. |
