Agree with Shalista - Jacksonville if you have to go that far, pcola. Really, though, I think Tallahassee is far enough east at this point, unless things swing back east -- but that's just MHO.
Just saw scrolling on The Weather Channel that neighboring Santa Rosa County, FL has ordered a mandatory evacuation of low lying areas including all of Navarre Beach "starting at 8 a.m. Monday." WHOA. . Sure seems premature to me!! Hope Escambia County doesn't follow suit for Pensacola Beach....could all be for naught. They should at LEAST wait for the 5 p.m. NHC update, IMHO, but what do I know?? I suppose they could rescind the order at some point....?
Would really be surprised if Escambia moves that fast. As my hubby points out, PBeach, as opposed to less commercially developed NBeach, has got lots of MONIED interests (read: hotels, condos, shops & restaurants) likely lobbying against evac. Or so we hope!! I really don't want to go and have slowed down packing 'til tomorrow at least. |
