Today my bro in Queens (has power, no prob) saw a repair truck from Texas working on wires.
Most electric companies have reciprocal agreements to assist in storm times. We see convoys from the north come into Florida after storms.
Guess those convoys came north this time!! I read somewhere-- that they were already on the
road long before Sandy came ashore-- once it was determined that the "left hook" would be made--knowing there would be a lot of repair work to be done!!
Today the other bro (Manhatten, with no power) was told at least 4 days to resume power. Seems a
major generator/switching station blew last night (maybe the big flash while Cantore was reporting?) and it will take big time parts and repair to get it back up. |
