Alabama feeling the cool

Barring anything drastically changing toward the end of the year, 2013 will go down as the fourth coolest year on record for the state of Alabama, going back to 1868, when temperature records began being kept in the state. Interestingly enough, two of the cooler years ahead of 2013 in the record books: 1994 and 2001.
Also, this summer marks only the third time in recorded weather history that NO recording station in the state of Alabama has registered a 100 or higher degree temperature the entire meteorological summer or June, July, August, and September.
Water temps for 2013 have also been at or below average in nearby coastal waters.
What a strange year indeed. |
