"This storm has blown up fast. "  Yes it has, since my 9:42 am post yesterday.  The JMA, at that time, had the intensity Scale: Intensity - and to Intensity Strong, now the Intensity Violent.  

The Navy has it as a typhoon after it makes landfall in Vietnam.  By the time it hits Campuchia/Cambodia (I don't know which city it will be in.) the winds are expected to be at 70 kts.  The  JTWC has it as a tropical cyclone farther inland.
