Just when we get better data for the models, is strengthens rapidly. I saw some information earlier that had said the G-IV data seemed to indicate a stronger ridge than what the GFS had been. But I guess that data is now into the 0Z models.
The storm is still averaging a little south of west movement, so until it starts to slow down and turn, I really don't want to make a guess. The storm is becoming a lot more dangerous for the Caribbean. I really think Jamaica could be severely impacted. Then on to some part of Cuba. The models are just so very close along the U.S. east coast. I hope that becomes a lot clearer. If not, you could see some massive evacuations take place. An evacuation situation like Floyd would be really bad. But still plenty of time for any direct U.S. impact to be clearer. |
