Marine son lives in a 5th Wheel RV in Belle Chasse on the air station. That is 10 mi SE of NO on one of those 'delta fingers.' Mom (me) here is concerned.

This is beginning to look like a bad set up....or is that hype?

Lots of rain, poss RUQ of storm over NO, surge problems backing up an already high flood stage Mississippi. What did they say...20ft was already expected this weekend before the storm and the all time record is 21ft? Slow mover, storm forms so close to coast. Waters already at the normal August levels of warmth...gracious.

Anyone know how high the levees can handle? I bet the Army Corps of Engineers is scrambling trying to get all that water pumped out of the city asap.

What a way to start the hurricane season.
