I keep saying temporary but I probably will leave it. And it will be at the same url. The Bahamas radar display is really rather poor. It was extra terrible yesterday, jumping around with only a few frames. I've mostly completed this one. I might add another option to choose the start and end points within the loop.
I haven't heard anything from the Bahamas about removing it and if I don't I will keep it. It automatically deletes imagery after one to two days, which I temporarily turned off to allow for an even longer loop than 24 hours. I'm not using their bandwidth either. I download the imagery to my site and display it. Their site has higher quality imagery when you zoom in, but I didn't want to get too complicated with it and use more resources on their site to download even more. During Dorian their radar site was down sometimes and hard to access, so a mirror might help them.
If it were to become too busy and drives a little too much bandwidth to my site, maybe we could also install it at HurricaneCity. |
