Unlikely. The only way this gets into the Gulf is if it's a weaker system like the Euro and CMC want to suggest.
However, the reforming of the center over Hispanola right now, which it appears to be doing, is going to make this a stronger storm. Stronger storms feel the influence of troughs more.
Check out Hurricane Irene. This could end up being a very similar track. My prediction is it is your typical Cape Verde storm. It gets close to Florida but makes its North turn and then its NE turn just missing the Carolinas and the U.S.
