Also on their feed, they threw some things out the back. They said it was for training, but I am not sure those were dropsondes. Another tweet says they released some buoys, which I assume are AXBTs (Airborne EXpendable BathyThermograph). Info from NOAA on those:

Those are larger than dropsondes that measure wind, temp and dewpoint on the way down.

Really cool to see them doing it out the cargo door.
