When the NHC had 90mph they said this in the 10am CDT NHC discussion:
"Peak 700-mb flight level winds were 89 kt, which equates to a maximum surface wind of about 80 kt"
The 30 second flight level winds in the southeast quadrant at 700mb level were 101 knots at 12:21pm CDT from the pass recon just made. SFMR estimated surface winds were either flagged or missing around that time. Surface winds might not have caught up yet or they might not have got a reading on those well enough yet. We'll see what 1pm CDT intermediate advisory has. I am going to start a new post for that one. |
