Anytime a long range model has something some people begin hyping it on social media. I did a quick search when I posted that and didn't happen to run across anything outrageous, though I only did a quick search on Twitter. I just don't use Facebook any longer so there might be some worse stuff there. I just thought it might be a good reminder at the start of the season. Some people hype things constantly on social media so that for the time they get something right about a long range model, by accident, they can point to that and ignore all the times they were wrong about something in the extended range. I don't usually run into things much because I don't post much on social media (I use Twitter), but some of the meteorologists in Tampa in the past have pointed things like that out that get spread around on social media. (often it is something being shared widely on Facebook) Like I said, I rarely run into it myself, but it seems to be something that is out there a lot.
Hopefully you didn't have any issues with Claudette. |
