Hi, everyone. I haven't been around much lately, either, since I now live in Indianapolis. I was still living in New Orleans at the time of Katrina and I don't know if I'll ever completely get over what happened. My mother is now 88 years old and is currently in the hospital in Metairie (suburb of New Orleans, which fared much better in the Katrina mess than Orleans Parish did) after breaking her hip. I'm so worried for her, but the situation is better now than it was when she was living alone (with dementia) in July, and refusing any kind of assistance, even at home. I am too far away to be of much help to her right now, but if you all would keep her in your thoughts (and prayers, if that's something you do), I would greatly appreciate it. I will never forget how kind you all were to me before and after Katrina and I hope you are all doing well. It's nice to see some familiar names! |
