There was this email on September 14th titled:

What's "Depop?" Here's Why It Matters

Which has some info on what that means. I never opened it. I get so many emails. I only just saw it now when I looked for the phrase "depop" to see when the email came.

And then on September 27th an email titled:

"You Have Documents Available - Citizens Property Insurance"

In which inside the email it said:

"PC Depop PolicyHolder Choice"

It should have been an email titled with something that wasn't easily ignorable. And when I logged in that evening, the letter wasn't even there. My dad called the insurance agent the next day. We watch the local news each day so we knew they were trying to kick more people off, so we kind of expected it because they've tried that with us before. And they will again, until they find some company that will take us and then go bankrupt if we probably ever needed them.

It shouldn't be the way it is. They just really, really want people off of it. They know most people wouldn't do it voluntarily, especially for the privilege to pay more. Why pay less when you can pay more and have a lot more risk? Who wouldn't want an insurance company that is obviously insane for choosing to take on more risk and is more likely to go under? Unless people already live on the coast in Florida, don't. It's a losing proposition. Increasingly the case in many places along the coast.
