Re: Happened to me last week

Chris, I wish you the best with your eventual decision-making about where to live. Leaving Pensacola Beach, our home for 22 years in a house we had completely renovated after Ivan, was one of the toughest decisions ever. But I can visit the beach whenever I want, and come home to a significantly safer location only about 15 minutes away. Needless to say, if I haven't already, I wouldn't have wanted to be left alone on the island to deal with hurricanes, evacuations, etc., after my husband died. And it was precisely because he was older than I, that I suggested our departure in the first place, much as I hated to. I still miss that beautiful place and, of course, my old life there. Can't go back; that life no longer exists..

As to whether or not Citizens would ever take me back should my new insurer raise rates above a certain level, I seriously doubt it - not when they're trying to dump bucket loads of policies.

What I don't get is why Citizens spends money to advertise on NPR. I hear them many mornings. Why advertise if you don't want new customers? Makes no sense to me.
