earthquakes are very much reduced in numbers and intensity, though that may mean lava is closer to the surface

My heart goes out to them all. One of my friends & my nephew visited Iceland a few years back, said it was breathtakingly beautiful but quite expensive. I have never been there, but still can't think of Iceland without envisioning Floki from the Vikings series.
