That light pollution map is amazing to look at. Not a lot of low light pollution areas in the U.S. in the east other than northern Minnesota and Maine. A lot of people in the west are within driving distance.

Exceptionally little area in most of Europe too. I guess I also didn't realize how lopsided China's population is when it comes to the east and west in that country.

Also, I know a lot more people live in the Northern Hemisphere, but that map really shows it well.

You had beautiful sky, but I couldn't put up with the cold for that beautiful view. I look at International Falls' temperatures sometimes just so I remind myself why I can't complain when it gets "cool" here in Florida. But it would be a really nice place to visit, in the summer.

When I was young I went to various places where there would have been few lights around, but I don't remember too much. Even when I was older I guess I must not have specifically paid too much attention. I was just too young to remember the Northern Lights. Next time I visit Tennessee, I'll have to look at the stars. When I was there over the summer I was where it was very dark, and I saw that it was darker than what I ever see, but I don't know if I ever went out and looked up. It was in a rural area in the woods so I wouldn't have too much of the sky to see, but I'll have to try it next time.
