I was surprised at the surge values for Tampa Bay in the public advisory:

5 to 8 feet as of posting this message. That could be the most significant surge I've ever seen here. It's going to require a lot of evacuations in the area by Wednesday evening I would imagine. Even if we don't get hurricane force winds, there could be thousands of homes flooded.

Forecast to be relatively fast moving, but large. And a shallow shelf. And a bay with nowhere for the water to go. And a lot of time with a flow taking the water right up into the bay.
