Keeping this simple to post in multiple places to various people. Internet has been spotty this morning. Spectrum just fixed it after being out over 6 hours. A short of some sort in the neighborhood where we are. So that means our phone was out. It's back at the moment. We are about to start boarding up our house and do the things I did before with pavers to try to protect from surge. This time though, we won't be here unless something changes. If it made landfall north of the opening of Tampa Bay, it would be worse than Helene in terms of likely surge and certainly wind if the core of the hurricane was nearby. We will not take a chance with a dangerous storm like this one. The last one I knew what the surge was likely to be within around a foot or so. This could be very different. Might be hard for us to get calls or for me to post without phone and internet. Hopefully it stays on until we evacuate which we plan to do. But we'll be busy until then. When we do, no cell phone, so we would have to connect through free Wi-Fi. Not sure on the plans on exactly where we will go yet. Right now we just need to prepare and take it easy putting up the boards.
