I've seen on the news about how dry it has been and about the fires, including a fire fighter that died in the area due to a falling tree.

Even though we are not in any kind of drought here, it's been very dry since the hurricane. We have had to water the yard some, which we never do unless we really need to. Of course we're about to get some rain from the storm likely.

At one point days ago I think the future storm might have actually turned into something that could have headed your way to some extent, or maybe it was something else. It would have brought snow perhaps. But now I don't see much in your forecast in the GFS for 16 days, which I'm sure will change from run to run. That future storm heads into the Atlantic after possible Southeast impacts in current GFS run.
