It's sad. When I think of that kind of rain I think back to Helene in North Carolina. With any elevation, like there is along the coast of Honduras it seems, it makes it so dangerous to have the rain focused into the valleys. Not a lot you can do but not be in those areas. I'm not used to that kind of thing, where you have to evacuate in some cases for that possibility. It depends on very much knowing the area. Along the coast it is more straightforward. In places like that, you need to know the history if you are not familiar with an area. A nice little stream normally can be a raging river and it might not be something that happens except extremely rarely.
