I guess I kind of wanted to make it to show how much hurricane hunter reconnaissance takes place. I worry about potential budget cuts across the board in the future. It's a really important resource. There were some instances this year where more recon would have helped a little earlier. Satellite is nice, but nothing like sending a plane in to take direct observations. (and others, like SFMR surface wind estimates)

They really did crisscross the Gulf a lot. (with a lot in part because the Air Force often leaves from Mississippi)
