I had heard about all those things on the news. The world at large is a mess, but the weather has been bad in places too. Plus that plane crash being near your sister. I saw how that plane just fell out of the sky. Luckily no one on the ground was hurt apparently. And I had seen some videos of the ice bringing down trees limbs onto power lines.
I'm watching the weather tonight in TN just in case there are any tornadoes around I need to call anyone about.
Using this site in part tonight that Fred has posted: https://www.tornadohq.com/live/ Updates maybe five minutes ahead for a thunderstorm warning added to the map where I was watching. NOAA radar display on my screen took about five extra minutes.
As for the other issues around the country, and the world, it's hard to keep hearing about it. I want to know, but I also really don't. Not much I can do about it. Every day it's worse than the last.
I'm not looking at Twitter any more. I updated the forum here to no longer display tweets. I think at this point it's a privacy risk.
And that site I posted also again was well ahead of the NOAA site. There was a tornado warning posted south of where I am paying attention to and the NOAA display took 6 minutes to update compared to the other site, 7 minutes after the warning was posted. I visited the NOAA site in another tab and it did have the warning, but it hadn't updated on the tab I had it open on until just now. No site should ever be relied on, but nice to know that the NOAA display isn't quick updating. Really need to have coordinates selected and refresh the page on the point forecast site for text warnings to get to you quickly. I guess some people have warnings on their phones, but I'm looking at another area from me. And I don't use a cell phone. |
