I have been reading a lot on the subject and appreciate any links and stories. I don't know much about the subject as much as I know about what the earth DOES with what it GETS rather than what it gets from the sun.
The Andre the Giant story is very very cool. There's a Chinese basketball player with a similar giantism issue--he had part of his brain putting pressure on a gland in his brain, which was producing the growth hormone. He's considering pro basketball--he's 7'6" tall. It was strange to read how his father passed away and he came back to his small community in Europe to the funeral and played cards with his friends in that community only to die himself a few days later. And he has a daughter last known to live in Seattle. He has a brother who looks very very normal. I suspect his daughter, too, is just a normal looking American. To me there are two sides--a celebrity side and freak/illness side to him that made him a very humble and interesting star. |
