Correct me if I am wrong--and I certainly may be--but I am under the impression that if a developing system is moving in the direction of upper-level shear as opposed to against it, the impact of the shear lessens at least somewhat if not to a large degree. In this case it seems like that is what we will see, a storm moving east across the GOM with the shear rather than against it. Any credence to this or is this a meteorological old wife's tale? ;)
