Maybe the problem is not aso much political as it is economical.Our modern economy functions in such a manner as to encourage people not to be all that concerned with the problems and trials faced by other people.Mark my word,as I am writing this there are scores of Americans who are already figuring out how to profit from this catastrophy.Developers,real estate proffesionals and others are already invisioning the money that they might make as people from the coast migrate from that area in search of new homes and livlihoods.We all know about the connections our poloticians have with the real estate and development crowd,and we all know that before this is over the same people who have been making millions and billions for the past 30 years or so by encouraging the overdevelopment of once pleasant communities,wrecking the enviroment and starting wars will once again cash in on the misery of others.
On a slightly different topic; my fellow Americans; It has been made public that BP in conjunction with the coast gaurd has at least on one occasion threatend to arrest television reporters who were attemting to inspect a portion of the Lousiana coast. Our nation is in dire trouble when a private corporation can elicit government agents to enforce laws that they alone want enforced ! The coast gaurd alone has not closed any portion of the coast to news crews,and have said that they will investigate this matter.Get online,or on the phone as soon as possible and inform congress and the executive office that we Americans will not tolerate being policed by private corporations,espeacialy not foreighn corporations ! No I am not a tea bagger,nor am I even a conservitive ! I am an American who insists upon self rule by elected represenitives,not corporate elites ! Tell congress to put BP in their rightfull place ! |
