Yeah Jac, I've been watching the area near Nicaragua for days now (posted on it when I mentioned that the TUTT in the Carribean seemed to be flattening and weakening some). This area near Nicaragua (has had more positive upper support) and models have hinted at it for a couple of days now. The other area which you mentioned E of the Carib will bring more instability into an already unstable situation at the surface in the E Carib. In any case, it looks like the models are probably on to something when they forecast some type of tropical system coming out of the Carribean (generally by way of the Yucatan Channel) and into the Gulf.
