| Bobbi, if it "traces Florida" it will do so because the ridge moved off the coast in time to block Earl from going poleward. If that happens, Earl isn't going anywhere near NC--he's staying westward. I see no scenario in which Earl can both "trace Florida" AND scrape the Carolinas. If he moves north he will do so out ahead of the ridge. If he doesn't, he will get trapped underneath it. The more I look at the conditions ahead of Earl the less "gray area" I see. It's one scenario or the other--not both at the same time. |
