Yes, I worked on a project there and did the radiation detector for it.
It was a team of physicts, headed by a MIT prof.
Also had guys from ORNL, UT, and Stanford.
I have Physics and Electrical Engineering degrees.
Since then, I moved away from nuclear research - still very much interested in it though.
Never been at the LHC, would love to see it.
