You're a good man Doug; so please don't let unhappiness sneak into your life by worrying too much about what "the powers" have done or may do to us - because that's out of our control.

If ever there was a "conspiracy" to do us in - it's the banking system. The bankers have raped and pillaged our society ever since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1914 but especially in the last 10 years with financial deregulation.

Why worry about technology when the banks and corporations are killing us every day?

HERE IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH AMERICA:
http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/02/income-inequality-in-america-chart-graph

HERE IS WHAT THOMAS JEFFERSON SAID:

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

And we allowed it because so few of us had the knowledge to prevent it. The "conspiracy" was to keep us stupid about such things; to make us believe in the corporatist crap from Billionaire Rupert Murdoch's Fox News; to make us believe in our politicians who are subservient to corporate campaign financing; and worst of all to believing even in our Supreme Court who now says "corporations can give all the political money they want."

Why do I care so little about all the silly "conspiracies" I read about? Partly because they're not real to begin with; and partly because even if they were, they PALE IN COMPARISON to the reality that's happening to us every day through the financial system - which effectively has been by far the greatest "conspiracy" ever.

You're right: "a lot of people have been ruined" (and many more will be.)

You're right: "they won."

Hang in there man.
