You got that right! I caught a parasitic disease (toxoplasmosis) in my right eye while in the USAF.

My V.A. doctor says I probably picked it up in when in Thailand. Whatever the case, it sure was a disaster when the little buggers suddenly became active a year or so later when I was stationed at a Norad Control Center in Virginia.

After massive doses of Prednisone (enough to trigger temporary glaucoma) and retina surgery at Walter Reed Hospital, the protozoa bastards finally "went to sleep" (you can't kill them.)

I was fine for a few years then son of a gun, the little creeps woke up again. This time I underwent a long series of painful drug injections in my eyeball at the V.A. Hospital in D.C. After a month or two the little creeps again went back to slumber...and they've been sleeping ever since.

Just goes to show...ya never know what kind of creepy thing can strike you out of the blue!
