It was not bad around me near Tampa International. We didn't get any damage near me like some other places in the region. The rain was torrential though. Pool overflowed considerably, over the patio and into the backyard. and the road flooded in front of my house. I live on a canal but the water that drains from front yards goes to the road which has to drain the water through a few storm sewer drains going underground in pipes across some people's lots draining back into the canal. While the road has flooded before, the duration this time was long. It had not drained down until half an hour after the rain. And unlike most times, there was no blockage in the storm sewer drains. The water was flowing just as fast as it could.
Over three inches of rain Monday (slow rain on that occasion) and now another over three inches. (happened quick) |
