The damage in different area's was very strange - down close to the water, towns like Patchogue & Bayport received very little in the way of damage. A little further inland - where I live - there were sections of extensive damage, mostly downed trees & power lines but you would think if we received this type of damage inland - the coastal areas would be in worse shape. This was not the case - Hurricane Gloria was the opposite, the damage was mostly limited to the coastal areas & it seemed the storm didn't wreak as much havoc further inland.
PS - I'm def ready for my power to come back on - I just received word that crews were in front of my house working on some of the trees. |
