Traditionally in busy seasons, you get that one big storm to form in the Caribbean. Opal, Wilma and Mitch first come to mind.
Some models, particularly a couple of the notable ones, are forecasting 96L to become a major hurricane in the coming days. However, the steering is very weak and it could just meander for 5+ days. Hopefully we don't see another Mitch scenario where this thing just sits and then dumps an unbelievable amount of rain and wind on someone in Central America. |
