| Well I can tell you this much we in the Norfolk area had winds in excess of 80 mph and further inland winds reached at least 65mph, and when I drove down the I-95 corridor going South into NC you could see the wind damage from where trees fell and not to mention where they had fallen across I-95. Not to mention the storm surge that came with it from the chesepeake bay. I lived it and you cannot convince me that Irene was not a hurricane when it came rolling through here. |
