Shalista can you go to your nws homepage and see if you can find the sustain wind reports from your area? Im just curiouse..Just because trees fell and  a storm surge does not mean it was a hurricane.I did not witness it Norfolk so can't say if it was or not..

We had trees down, the worse storm surge i have seen since the Dec 1992 storm, and power outages.and the strongest sustained winds i can find were 52mph here. The highest wind gust was 91mph in Sayville here on Long Island, but that was from a Tornado. It was a Tropical Storm here, but you still here people calling it a Hurricane. I have said it plenty of times and will say it plenty more times, people here will be in a for a rude awakening when we do get a full fledged 75 mph hurricane. Most will be expected the same kind of damage Irene did, they are in for a huge shock!!
