With all the rain in south florida the everglades is saturated with water. In 2005 Katrina became a hurricane right before she hit SE FLA. I had read that Katrina's land interaction crossing southern florida in 2005 did nothing to decrease her strength because of this. Soon after she exited FL's west coast she was upgraded to a cat 2. The rest is history. The reason I am mentioning this is because I live in s FL. We are getting rain from one wave after another. I don't like the pattern that has set up and hopefully it will change in August. Any thoughts? |
