Lived through many a storm.... lived through Andrew smaller ones as well seen the eye felt the wind the roar of the waves and the crashing surf from several blocks away prepared for storms that never came prepared for those that did some we didn't prepare as much fore because they said they wouldn't hit... but did watched models since the AVN was the wonder child of the month been at the ocean... watched, chased with some friends that go back to high school prefer chasing them to being chased
love hurricanes every friggin thing about them... with the exception of death and destruction
it's part of life .... people did in floods and lose their homes F5 tornadoes come down and suck a town right up into the sky with blocks destroyed as if they didn't exist blizzards kill so many people due to disease and exposure... accidents people break their backs and arms and legs sliding down hills the wrong way in ice storms people die
it's not just about hurricanes, they are not the big bad wolf of earth science
I'll take a hurricane ANY time over being at the epicenter of a 6.5 earthquake or Moore tornado or months... of having your homes and businesses covered in ash from a nearby volcano
hurricanes are one of the few "natural diasters" on the planet you can prepare for and evactuate from if you really need to...
and they serve a purpose in the grand scheme of atmosheric energy
tropical storms.... remnants too are responsible a good portion of the rain the farm belt gets in the mid west as the moisture moves inland
I'm sorry not going to sit here and pretend I really hope there are no more hurricanes you are either here because 1) you had a bad bad experience and are terrified and want more information 2) YOU love them and are mesmerized by them even far away at sea and want information
I'm honest.
Oh......................and Thanks... always good to read that "we aren't going to have a season post" that goes around ANNUALLY every year. it usually happens with a week to ten days of the tropics going BONKERS.
I have a blog. It's a good blog. Informative, educational and a bit of entertainment. http://hurricaneharbor.blogspot.com/ I'm honest there... with thoughts on the tropics and not going to pretend I don't wanna see no hurricanes this year.
i want them... lots of them... everyone stay safe and be prepared prepare NOW dont' wait until all the canned goods and water are sold out at your local Kroger or Publix
Learn.. Jim's site is filled with information... not just the message board
And...people round here will stay with you if you need...
Thanks... NOW I know the season is about to break out and start cause every year we go through this...
Welcome to the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season... it's about to ramp up |
