We surrender

There's been about 4.4 inches of rain at my house today, with even more coming in still. (Water didn't even totally cover my street despite getting more than the other day as this came down much more slowly)

South Tampa however, not so lucky. They got even more rain, perhaps a few inches more in places. Some cars are literally floating in the streets there. There's the common, I thought I could make it from the people interviewed on the news. Cars floating down Kennedy Boulevard, definitely not normal.

Driving through water can definitely be very dangerous. I was thinking about even around me. There is a ditch along the road that runs along the golf course near my house. When flooded, you can't see it. The roadway would look to be covered under about a foot or two of water, but if you were to travel just a little bit off the road, just a couple feet, and say you were unable to get your seat belt off, it would be enough where someone could probably drown if your car went off into the ditch. And that is assuming the road is still there. Across the country numerous times you see where a road washes out and even when you are on the road, or at least where it used to be, you can get swept away because it simply isn't there anymore.

How's everybody else in the area? I may have received nearly a foot in the last week, but some places more than that, perhaps sixteen inches, with over twenty inches offshore according to radar.
