Will Harvey maintain strength inland for some time?

I remember that phenomenon occurring a few years ago in Florida. In that case it was tons of rain plus the Everglades that allowed the hurricane to maintain strength inland for some time.
With Harvey dropping SO MUCH water....and moving SO SLOW, could the same thing occur here? (Shutter).
If that is true...a Cat 3/2/1 could really do even more wind damage inland...at a further distance from the shore.
It would also keep that surge pushed further inland...and maintained....causing horrid damage. The water cannot escape through normal drainage.
