Addicks and Barker Reservoirs to undergo controlled releases; other homes likely to be flooded

Addicks Reservoir release beginning at 2am Monday into Buffalo Bayou. Barker Reservoir later. (I forget when he said.) Thousands of homes along edge of reservoirs may be inundated for weeks as reservoir rise, with water coming in exceeding water being released in controlled releases. Controlled releases from Addicks and Barker in order to prevent damage to dams. Voluntary evacuations in some areas.

This was from a briefing by Jeff Lindner about releases by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston.

Earlier story:

I think he said it might take 12 hours for the water to make it into Houston. If the water level doesn't fall, it could add to the height of the water in some areas along Buffalo Bayou. Hopefully more info will be posted online soon. Their website is down.
