The trough is going to get shoved along by a second high pressure system, that will pass overhead, as Irma passes underneath, like ships passing each other. The models are starting to come together on Orma missing her opening/weakness, and moving along.

Irma is setting up, at least for now, to be on what is called a "classic" track. That usually involves a few different routes, but one is the Miami/South Florida WNW to NW into the GOMEX, then kandfalling along the coast from Morgan City to Panama City
