I live on a boat in Tarpon Springs, Pinellas County. After securing as much as I could I decided there wasn't much to be done in the storm, so evaced Saturday to Destin in the Panhandle, where I joined my sister and brother-in-law who had evaced there from Delray Beach. By the time I left around 5 p.m. the wind and current had picked up and I almost couldn't get off the boat.

Got back here near midnight last night (Tuesday) after a 10-hour drive from Destin (normally 6 1/2 - 7 hours), and if I didn't know there had been a hurricane I wouldn't have known there had been a hurricane. Other than a few palm fronds down and some puddles, things looked pretty normal. Even the power was back on, and has stayed on, other than a half-hour outage this afternoon. Some stations in the area last night even looked to have gas. And my boats were fine, which was a huge relief. Seems we dodged a very big bullet here, and Irma's last-minute jog to the NE probably made a huge difference.

Hope everyone else is okay and is doing as best as can be expected.
