Need to watch North GOM in the next few days

Jack:

You're on to something.

WV loop shows a nice UL Ridge building over the north GOM.

Shear is running 5 knots along the coast and up to 20 knots in the mid GOM.

Pressures have dropped to about 29.85" and are forecasted to drop more.

DM's hyper wave could move into the area in a couple days.

That along, with a stalled front could drive convergence high and set off convection.

Water temps are high and air very unstable.

A large pocket of 4000+ CAPE is forecast to setup in the west GOM in 48 hours and will last for the next few days after.

Shear will be nearly zero along the whole north GOM in about 60 hrs.
