In the short-term high pressure will build back in some along the north central gulf coast. But I wouldn't expect anything like the strength and staying power of the high which controlled our weather for the entire month of June. The Bermuda High will begin to flex its muscle this month, extending across Fl and into the Gulf of Mexico. This will put the gulf coast at its margins, giving us a SE flow from the gulf and a greater chance of showers. Further west into central Texas, you may indeed see more of the continental influence and the establishment of high pressure there. I wanted to post part of a blog by our local TV met on this subject but I was unable to.
