It has the area of LP to it's east robbing if of electron precip and to it's south in the South Pacific the cold core with its strikes has ended and then from above the UV light from the first big sunspot of cycle 24 that has rotated out of view has decreased:

BTW intensity then involves movement. Because when the LP which is robbing Carlos of displacement currents becomes strong enough the movement of them both will be dictated by the Fujuhara(spelling)effect. So much for a threat to the HI!!! Told you.
I fear I will give poor Tom Evans a musical heart failure, but tropical storms are the most significant electrical events on earth.
