The wave coming off Africa is very strong.
You can see how it pulls in all the high Theta-e air into it all the way from 40W to the east.
It has fragmented the ITCZ and cutoff the feed into the 50W Wave and seems to be pulling out moisture from it as well south of about 8N.
There is a huge and deepening LL vorticity with it centered over the LLC that QSCAT was showing.
It is hard to tell on CIMSS; but I think an anti-cyclone is forming over the LLC.
Also looks like deep convection is starting to fire SW of the LLC at 10N 35W.
Convergence is very strong and over a large area.
It will take time to consolidate; if at all.
So far, models are showing this fragmented and not consolidating.
I think it is a wait and see now; has a lot of potential though.
Will know a lot more when the LLC gets past 35W and into the sights of GOES.
